Randolph Construction Services Inc. of Pasco has been acquired for an undisclosed amount by LVI Services Inc. of New York, a leading provider of facilities and remediation services nationwide.
Don Zoda and his wife, Kay, started Randolph Construction Services in 1982 — and their daughters, Khris Judy and Lori Wenner, were an integral part of the business from the beginning.
When the company’s general manager left in 1999, Judy stepped into the position and diversified the company’s work. At first, the company had specialized in HVAC and sheet metal work. Judy transitioned the company into a general contractor.
Judy and Wenner bought out their father in 2002, allowing him to retire. But mom, Kay Zoda, stayed on as chief financial officer and executive vice president. By 2007, the company was doing about $10 million in sales annually.
That success didn’t go unnoticed.
In 2007, the U.S. Small Business Administration named Randolph Construction as its Region 10 Family-Owned Business of the Year.
That same year, Randolph was awarded a multi-year contract from the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration’s Second Line of Defense Program.
Through this Design, Integration, Construction, Communications and Engineering contract, Randolph installs Radiation Portal Monitors and supporting communication equipment at international seaports, river ports, airports, rail and vehicle ports of entry. Randolph’s DICCE team has completed 34 sites globally, supporting U.S. National Security efforts.
Randolph has successfully completed design-build projects for commercial, industrial and governmental clients, including the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Energy and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency.
“LVI has built a strong reputation among government agencies with our commitment to safety and regulatory compliance,” said Scott State, CEO of LVI. “We look forward to working with the Randolph team to continue providing the U.S. government with best-in-industry service.”
