Rock Wood-fired Pizza planned at Southridge

The Kennewick City Council approved the sale of a lot corner of Highway 395 and Hildebrand Boulevard in early March to an Oregon-based developer who plans to build a Rock Wood-fired Pizza & Spirits at the site.

The 1.26-acre lot was purchased by H & H Northwest Companies LLC for about $413,000.

H & H Northwest will build the restaurant for owner Brad Loucks, of Vancouver, Wash., a Rock Wood-fired Pizza & Spirits franchisee who already owns three of the restaurants and is currently building a fourth in Salem, Ore. The Kennewick location will be Loucks’ fifth Rock Wood-fired Pizza & Spirits.

Loucks said he did a lot of research before choosing to enter the Tri-Cities’ market.

“There’s more development going on there than anywhere else (in the state),” said Loucks, who added that the Southridge location was especially attractive.
“I can’t wait to be next to all those ball fields,” he said.

Loucks said H & H Development has some site work to do before construction on the building can start.

The two-story restaurant will be 6,000 square feet, with outdoor patio seating in both the bar and the dining room.

The industrial design of the building will feature broken brick and recycled barn wood.

The interior will also feature broken brick and wrought iron and the décor will feature classic album covers and memorabilia.

The bar and dining rooms will be on the restaurant’s main floor and the upstairs will also have a full bar and a deck.

Like the other Rock Wood-fired locations, the restaurant will feature a large, open kitchen and a vibrant atmosphere.

“The Rock Wood-fired Pizza & Spirits is a visual treasure and a one-of-a-kind experience. Authentically re-created architecture includes rock history memorabilia and a distinctive, warm, classic rock atmosphere,” Loucks said.

The Rock menu features wood-fired pizzas, pasta, burgers, sandwiches and salads. The bar offers its owns microbrews and specialty cocktails.

Rock Wood-fired Pizza & Spirits is a Sumner-based company that has 11 franchises in Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Alberta, B.C.
