Head & Neck 5K/2-Mile Walk in Richland

April 15 @ 9:00 am

Partners In Care to host annual Head & Neck 5K/2-Mile Walk in Richland

A charitable 5K run and 2-mile walk to benefit head and neck cancer patients is returning to the Tri-Cities.

The second annual Partners in Care 5K/2-Mile Walk happens at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 15 in Richland at Columbia Point Marina Park’s Riverfront Trail.

Registration is open now through race day, with an entry fee of $35 for adults and $25 for those ages 17 and under (children under 5 years of age are free). Fees to pre-register before April 5 are discounted $5, and all participants who register in advance will receive a race T-shirt.

Funds raised benefit the nonprofit Partners in Care Foundation and will be used to provide financial assistance to head and neck cancer patients and to provide cancer screenings and treatment across eastern Washington.

The overall top male and female 5K runners will receive an award, with the first three male and female finishers in each age category of the timed run receiving a lanyard pin. Strollers and pets are allowed only in the 2-mile walk.

The Tri-Cities race kicks off the charitable foundation’s spring season of running events nationwide, with additional benefits planned over the next two months in Florida, California, Colorado, North and South Carolina and West Virginia.

The race series was started 11 years ago to bring awareness to head and neck cancers and raise money for those unable to afford costly associated recovery therapies that often aren’t covered by insurance or with a very high copay.

Local race partners for the 2023 Head & Neck 5K/2-mile Walk include GenesisCare and Altrusa International. For more information about the event, to sponsor or to register, visit Partners In Care.
