Gary Kleinknecht will present a program on the Coyote Canyon Mammoth. Gary is a retired high school teacher and is currently the Education and Outreach Director for MCBONES, the nonprofit that oversees the mammoth site. His talk with PowerPoint slides will include the mammoth’s discovery and the rare opportunity to study our region’s past as the bones are excavated. The Hanford Advisory Board (HAB) develops consensus advice on major policy issues related to Hanford Site cleanup. The advice is provided to the Tri-Party Agreement (TPA) agencies – the U.S. Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency and Washington State Department of Ecology. The HAB’s Public Involvement Committee members will review and discuss public meetings held in Seattle, Portland and Hood River, Oregon in 2018. They will also share ideas with the TPA agencies regarding future Hanford public meetings.
