Vicki Monteagudo, who has owned the Century 21 franchise in the Tri-Cities since 2012, bought land at 89 Gage Blvd., Richland, from DAH Properties,

said Lisa Monteagudo, executive vice president and CFO for Century 21 Tri-Cities.

Planning for the building began in November 2014 when Vicki Monteagudo consulted with the Spokane firm HDG Architecture and Design. They’re the same company that designed the Fire Artisan Pizza building in Kennewick.

The general contractor for the project is Fowler General Construction, Inc. of Richland. Construction on the project, which is valued at $1 million according to building permit records, began in October.

“We’re on target for it to be completed Mar. 31. Then there’ll be furniture to buy and the offices to get set up. We’re likely looking at opening in late April,” said Lisa Monteagudo.

The two-story building will cover 8,800-sq.-ft. and accommodate a growing number Century 21 agents.

“We have about 40 agents now and expect to grow to 60 next year and to 100 by 2017,” said Lisa Monteagudo.

The building will have several uncommon amenities for clients and employees to enjoy. The first is a small café nook by the entry. In addition to coffee, tea and hot chocolate, the café will stock pastries and sandwiches.

The back patio will be set up for potlucks and receptions complete with a sound system. There will be a photography studio on the premises and there are plans to install a video recording station where clients can record testimonials, said Lisa Monteagudo.

Vicki Monteagudo has been a realtor since 2001. Her license covers the state, but Century 21 Tri-Cities does business mainly in the Tri-Cities area including Burbank and the Lower Yakima Valley.
