Another downtown Kennewick shop has reopened after being affected by a fire earlier this spring.

Earth Spirit, an apothecary and boutique, reopened its store at 113 W. Kennewick Ave. on July 5, spending the past four months rehabilitating its space and restoring lost inventory.

“It’s been a hard last few months, but I am beyond grateful to everyone who has stuck with us and supported us through this closure and I can’t wait to share all the new and exciting things I’ve done in the shop,” owner Erin Sagadin said in a statement.

The shop, which first opened five years ago, offers unique gifts, crystals, books, candles and other locally and regionally crafted items as well as workshops and classes.

It is next door to El Tequilas, the Mexican restaurant that caught fire March 15. While the fire did not reach the shop, smoke and soot destroyed most of Earth Spirit’s inventory and damaged the building.

Along with refurbishing the store and hiring new employees, Sagadin also plans to open a candle bar in the former barber shop space adjacent to the store in the coming weeks.
