Mid-Columbia organizations advocating for those with disabilities are encouraging others in the community to attend an upcoming event to join in their efforts. 

The Benton Franklin Legislative Forum 2026 will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at The Arc of the Tri-Cities at 1455 SE Fowler St. in Richland. The event is organized by Voices for Disability Advocacy. 

Lawmakers and candidates from the four legislative districts representing the Tri-Cities and surrounding area as well as the 4th Congressional District are expected to attend. 

“It’s an opportunity for community members to directly share their experiences and influence policy decisions that impact their daily lives,” said De Anna Winterrose, transition specialist, developmental disabilities for Benton and Franklin counties, in a release.
