The city of Richland is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on its Public Facilities District, or PFD, board.
The five-member board is appointed by the Richland City Council. The PFD board’s primary role is to build and maintain public facilities that attract tourism, create jobs, support commercial business, generate sales and lodging tax revenues, and provide space for public events.
Currently the board’s only dedicated facility is the Reach Museum in west Columbia Park. The board placed a sales tax measure on the November 2024 ballot to fund the construction of a performing arts center that was rejected by voters.
