National pharmacy chain Rite Aid will close stores in Kennewick and Richland as it continues to move through its latest bankruptcy process, according to bankruptcy court documents.
No specific closure dates have been announced for the stores, located at the corner of Lee Boulevard and Stevens Drive in Richland and Gage Boulevard and Steptoe Street in Kennewick.
The pharmacy retailer has three other Tri-City stores that have not had any closures announced, including the lone nearly 24-hour general commercial pharmacy in the area.
A bankruptcy judge has approved a sale agreement that would have rival pharmacy retailer CVS purchase the prescription files of 625 Rite Aid pharmacies across 15 states where CVS also provides services, as well as 64 Rite Aid stores in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. The locations of those stores have not been disclosed.
Other announced Rite Aid store closures in the region include stores at 250 Basin St. SW in Ephrata, 500 S. Pioneer Way in Moses Lake and 1900 S. Court Place in Pendleton.
