Weigh in on proposed updates to Richland’s comprehensive plan

Curious what Richland city leaders have put together for a roadmap for the city’s future development? Now’s your chance to learn and weigh in.

Community members are invited to hear about the draft comprehensive plan and proposed updates during an open house from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Richland Public Library. The plan provides a 20-year framework for local planning, infrastructure policy, and investment through 2046.

There will be no specific presentation during the event. Rather, residents, business owners and others connected to the community can stop at any time to meet with city staff and consultants about the draft plan, explore an interactive map showing current and proposed zoning changes, learn about proposed changes to the city’s development regulations and what the next steps are to adopt the plan.

The Richland Planning Commission is expected to hold the first public hearing on the proposed plan and regulations in late October, with adoption anticipated in December.
