Event Description

Richland, WA — The Academy of Children’s Theatre (ACT) is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of A Christmas Story: The Musical, a heartwarming and hilarious holiday classic based on the beloved movie that has become a staple of the season. Set in the 1940s in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, the story follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker on his determined quest to secure the ultimate Christmas gift: an Ocial Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. Despite constant warnings of "You'll shoot your eye out!" Ralphie devises an array of imaginative schemes to achieve his dream. This lively musical adaptation, which garnered rave reviews during its Broadway debut, features a versatile and memorable score. Audiences will enjoy everything from gentle ballads to toe-tapping ensemble numbers, including "Ralphie to the Rescue!", "A Major Award," "Sticky Situation," "Up on Santa's Lap," "Somewhere Hovering Over Indiana," and, of course, the unforgettable "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!"
