Event Description

What could be more enjoyable than sipping an awesome glass of wine while learning something new about native plants and bugs, plus, helpful gardening tips.   Stacie Gringas, from Buggirl’s Garden in Benton City, WA, will be teaching the free class on Saturday, May 17th from 3 to 5pm at Thurston Wolfe Winery in Prosser, WA.

Buggirl’s Garden, a small home-grown farm and nursery, has steadily grown and added products since its creation. Today, they offer a variety of products from cut flowers, bedding plants, fruits and vegetables, and much more.

Stacie says she is a biologist by training, a farmer by trade, and a teacher at my core. In her current role at YVC, Stacie teaches for two different departments: Life Science and Agriculture.  In each department, she gets to offer courses that are dear to her heart. In agriculture, knowing the anatomy, physiology, and ecological role of a crop species can make the difference between an OK agriculturist and a great one.
