Event Description

In 1943 and beyond women answered the call to participate in the war work in the hot, dry, and dusty conditions of southeastern Washington at the Hanford Engineer Works. Their contributions were largely unknown; their names (almost!) lost to history. Join us as we honor the women who supported the mission. With backgrounds as diverse as the roles they played, these women embodied the “Spirit of H.E.W.” and saw the job through. Meet Berniece, Olga, Hester, Anne, Florance, Leona and more as we highlight their unique stories.

Sponsor: B Reactor Museum Association  (BRMA)

Time: 6:30 pm

Location:  Richland Public Library

Free Admission

Note: BRMA encourages you to also plan on attending The Real Barbenheimer – Women of the Manhattan Project presented by the Society of Women Engineers for a look at the role women scientists and engineers played in the overall Manhattan Project. March 21, 2024 Richland Public Library 5:30 pm.
