The U.S. Postal Service recently published the deadlines for packages to make it to their destinations in time for winter holidays.
For parcels going to mailboxes in the contiguous United States, USPS recommends getting them shipped by Dec. 17 if using the most economical mail classifications. Gift givers should try to get them in a day or two earlier if sending to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or other U.S. territories.
And if you want gifts to get to those serving at military installations, postal officials recommend getting them in the mail by Dec. 9 for first-class and Priority Mail service and by Dec. 16 if using the Priority Mail Express Military Service.
