As Small Business Saturday arrives on Nov. 29, Tri-City retailers are hoping residents will choose to shop close to home to keep jobs and tax dollars local and support locally-owned shops.
Shoppers are encouraged to keep it in Kennewick when they do their holiday shopping and offering incentives to do so.
Those who shop downtown Kennewick’s Main Street can qualify for limited edition merchandise including a phone charger, insulated tumbler mug and yoga mat.
Bring receipts to the Small Business Saturday booth from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 29 at Earth Spirit, located at 113 W. Kennewick Ave. and redeem for a variety of items.
Quantities are limited during this shop local collaboration between the city of Kennewick and the Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership.
Small Business Saturday is a national celebration to recognize the value that small businesses bring to communities across the country, according to the Washington Small Business Development Center.
According to research by the Small Business Administration, for every $100 spent at a local business, up to $68 stays in the community.
