Courtesy city of KennewickThe Farmers Exchange building at 215 W. Canal Drive in downtown Kennewick has officially made the National Register of Historic Places and is the first nationally recognized historic property in downtown Kennewick.
Officially known as the Kennewick Fruit & Produce Co. Building, the building was constructed in 1912 and home to the Farmers Exchange for 100 years before its closure in 2024.
After the previous owner defaulted on their loan, the property was acquired by Banner Bank. After receiving no other bids at a May 23 auction, the property returned to Banner Bank, which has since put it on the market.
Its inclusion on the National Register means future property owners may have access to preservation grants and historic tax incentives.
LoopNet lists the Farmers Exchange building for $998,000. Two other buildings on the property, at 35 N. Benton St. and 205 W. Canal Drive, are together listed for $935,000, and a fourth building at 19 N. Benton St. is listed for $670,000.
