Tri-Citians will have another option for catching flights to Burbank, California, as soon as the airline providing that route leaves the market.

Alaska Airlines will begin offering daily nonstop flights to Hollywood Burbank Airport beginning Oct. 26, according to a release.

With Avelo Airlines’ exit in December those needing to catch a flight to the suburbs north of Los Angeles will have an option before Breeze Airways begins flying from Pasco to Burbank next spring.

The new route announcement was one of several for the airline, as it shared new connectivity across the West Coast.

“We’re the only global airline based on the West Coast, and we’re proud to offer the most flights and seats between California, Washington and Oregon,” said Kirsten Armine, Alaska’s vice president of revenue management and network planning, in a statement. “These new additions further expand our ability to take our guests between growing markets in California and the Pacific Northwest for leisure and business travel.”

Alaska will now be the second airline at the Tri-Cities Airport to offer routes to three destinations. It currently offers flights to Seattle and Los Angeles. The Burbank route will use a three-class 76-seat Embraer 175, and flights can already be booked at alaskaair.com

Avelo is currently the only airline offering a route to Burbank from the Tri-Cities. It recently announced that it will exit the West Coast market to focus on its operations in the eastern United States.

Within days of Avelo’s announcement, airport officials announced that Breeze would begin offering its own nonstop flight to Burbank in March 2026, with the option for those travelers to continue on to Provo, Utah without changing planes.
