The inaugural 70.3 Ironman race in Richland this past fall brought an estimated 10,000 participants and spectators to the region and injected approximately $7 million into the Tri-City economy. And the race will return annually through 2026.

This is the second year that Visit Tri-Cities has offered the IM TRI program. The program is designed to expand access to the event, which is Sept. 26, by removing financial and logistical barriers for individuals who may otherwise not be able to participate in a triathlon.
Along with paying for the race registration, the scholarship package will provide each selected winner with training, wellness services and equipment.
Participants will be announced in early March, with training beginning mid-March and continuing through the summer in preparation for race day.
