Editor’s note: This story has been updated to include Epic Trust’s full ownership group during the award eligibility period.

Four Richland businesses have made Inc. business magazine’s annual list of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the country, according to the current issue of the publication.

The list ranks companies based on three years of annual revenue growth.

Leading the Tri-Cities companies is Richland-based Epic Trust, a financial services company.

The company ranked No. 1,755 and boasted a 299% revenue growth over three years, according to Inc. It is the third consecutive year Epic Trust has made the list.

The partners of the group have since parted ways and now operate as two separate businesses.

Jeffery Lewis operates Epic Trust Enterprises, which is comprised of several companies, Epic Trust Investment Advisors, Epic Private Wealth and Integrated Accounting Services.

Nathan Burt and Tyson Reil operate Guardian Financial Group of Richland, along with another partner, Mark Haynes.

Christensen, a family-owned distributor of fuels, lubricants and propane since 1980, ranked No. 3,184 and had 155% growth over three years. It’s the second consecutive year the Richland business appeared on the list. Tony Christensen is listed as the company’s top executive.

Pacific Northwest Family Law in Richland, founded in 2019, ranked No. 3,515 with 137% growth over three years. It appeared on the list from 2016-18. Scott Ashby is listed as the firm’s top executive.

Gravis Law firm in Richland, founded in 2013, ranked No. 3,711, with 126% growth over three years. It has appeared on the list consecutively for five years. Brett Spooner is the CEO/president.

To be eligible for the Inc. 5000 list, a company must:

  • Be privately held, for profit, and independent (not a subsidiary or a division of another company).
  • Have been founded and generating revenue as of March 31, 2020.
  • Have generated a minimum of $100,000 in revenue in 2020.
  • Have generated a minimum of $2 million in revenue in 2023.

Companies must pay $495 to submit an application for consideration.
