The duo that’s now organizing the annual summer concert series on Kennewick’s Clover Island has announced a new festival coming to Richland in June.

Fusion Fest is scheduled to start June 9 and culminate in a day of performances and events at John Dam Plaza on June 14, according to information from event production company Emerald Spark.

“Fusion Fest offers a fresh twist on the traditional music festival, celebrating the local artists, venues, and businesses that make this community unique,” according to the event’s website.

The festival calendar includes tie-ins with the Thunder on the Island concert series as well as the Sacajawea Bluegrass Festival in Pasco. The organizers have said that more acts and events will be added in the coming weeks.

For the past two years the Tri-Town Get Down music and events festival has taken place in central Richland. It’s organizer, Caleb Brown, said via social media he sold the event, though Emerald Spark’s co-owners, Dara Quinn and Alicia Cullison told the Tri-City Herald that Brown was bought out.

Emerald Spark is continuing to seek vendors, performers and volunteers for Fusion Fest, particularly for its Wristband Partner program. Go to: fusionfestwa.com.
