Pasco’s new aquatics center opens next spring and city officials are looking for someone to build a brand for it that will bring in the crowds.
The Pasco Public Facilities District, which is administered by the city, recently published a request for proposals (RFP) for comprehensive place branding, specifically graphics, branding and a promotional package for the Pasco Aquatics Facility, which is scheduled to be completed in May 2026.
“This effort will utilize extensive research and community engagement to develop a comprehensive brand that is deeply unique to Pasco and resonates with our diverse community,” the RFP stated. “This new brand will represent the aquatic facility's unique attributes, the PPFD organization, and its involvement as a regional facility in the City of Pasco and Tri-Cities region. The brand will be relatable, aspirational and unique while being authentic and able to win the endorsement of the community at large.”
Proposals are due to the city by 3 p.m. Aug. 28. The full RFP is available online.
The aquatics facility has a budget of $40 million and Pasco voters approved a 2/10 of 1% sales tax increase in April 2022 to provide the funds.
