What has been your/your company’s most significant success over the last 12 months?
One of my greatest successes in the past 12 months has been joining and helping lead PNNL partnerships for the Genesis Mission, an ambitious, AI-enabled effort sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy to accelerate the pace of scientific discovery. This initiative brings together industry, academic institutions, and all 17 DOE national laboratories in new, highly collaborative ways that move beyond traditional models of research. Its progress underscores a core belief I have carried throughout my career: transformative outcomes arise when diverse teams align around a shared purpose and work across institutional boundaries.
Did you go to college? If so, what degree did you earn?
I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics from the University of Washington in Seattle. I am a doctoral candidate in artificial intelligence at George Washington University.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
The best advice I’ve received is something observed rather than recited: never lose your sense of curiosity. Curiosity is what inspired explorers to venture into the unknown, what deepens our understanding of one another, and what makes a blue sky something more than just a color. It draws us together even when our opinions differ and opens a window when we feel confined by the status quo or our own perceived limitations. From the example of Albert Einstein to the colleagues I work alongside at PNNL and in my own home life, I see curiosity that expands horizons in remarkable ways, continually reminding me that it is one of the most powerful forces for discovery, connection and possibility.
What is your favorite Tri-Cities restaurant and what do you order there?
3 Margaritas, fajitas. This is where I had my first Richland date with my now husband. And Bombing Range Brewery, all of their pizzas, but not all at once...
