Tri-Cities Chaplaincy and Horse Heaven Hills Pet Urgent Care are offering a pet loss grief support group on Dec. 13.

The group will run from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the urgent pet care, 3315 W Clearwater Ave., Kennewick.

Cara Hernandez, director of community care for Tri-Cities Chaplaincy, will lead the open forum group, which will aim to "provide a supportive environment for attendees to share their experiences and emotions associated with pet loss," a news release said. Hernandez also will offer tools and coping strategies for grief.

"Losing a pet is a deeply emotional experience, and the holidays can intensify those feelings. Our goal is to create a safe space for individuals to share their grief and provide them with practical tools to navigate through this challenging time," said Laurie Jackson, CEO of Tri-Cities Chaplaincy, in the news release.
