February is American Heart Month, and the Prosser Memorial Foundation will be hosting its annual Go Red for Women Luncheon to raise awareness and money for the foundation’s Women’s Health Fund.

The Go Red for Women movement was started by the American Heart Association to advocate for more research and swifter action for women’s heart health.

The luncheon is Feb. 2, on National Wear Red Day, at Desert Wind Winery in Prosser and will consist of a heart-healthy lunch and wine.

PMH board certified cardiologist, Dr. Karan Bhatti, is the guest speaker, and Shae Frichette of Frichette Winery is the emcee.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the women’s health fund at Prosser Memorial Health Foundation. The fund provides financial support for equipment and services that focus on the care of women and their health illnesses, including cancer, heart disease, diabetes and osteoporosis, among other things.

Tickets are $50 each, or $300 for a table of eight at the foundation’s website, www.prosserhealth.foundation, on Eventbrite, or by calling 509-786-6601.
