The Port of Kennewick has locked in Vista Field's first medical facility.

Brandon Furness and Royce Barney, owners of Columbia Point Eye Care, purchased the property at 6737 Azure Drive, with the sale closing on March 12, according to a release. The business owners have planned a 7,000-square-foot building with dedicated medical offices, optical retail and about 1,500 square feet of retail tenant space.

Along with being Vista Field’s first medical facility and third property sale to date, port officials say the business will be a natural transition between future residential development and activity closer to the mixed-use development's water feature and open-air pavilions.

The permitting process has wrapped up and construction is expected to begin within 90 days, with the project targeted for completion in the fall of this year.

“This will be a signature building for Vista Field, creating a medical center, a retail optical shop and leasable tenant space. So, we are getting several businesses with this one building,” said Amber Hanchette, the port’s director of real estate, in a news release.

“The doctors and their architects have embraced the concept of new urbanism, taking care to plan the visual approach for all three sides of their building. They designed a beautiful facade along Azure Drive and created an attractive approach from both pedestrian walkways and the parking lot.”

The port is following a community-driven master plan to sell lots at Vista Field for private sector investment, transforming the 103-acre site into a vibrant, mixed-use regional town center. Other lots sold include the Japanese restaurant Kuki Izakaya, which broke ground in November, and Blueberry Bridal, which bought a lot in January and is expected to complete construction by the end of 2025.
