A unique adult day center for adults 55 and older with slight to late-stage cognitive decline offers specific programming in a 1950s setting.
Called Town Square, the 8,500-square-foot facility at 825 N. Edison St., Suite 130, in Kennewick is located across from Kamiakin High School, in the same building as Golf Universe. It was scheduled to open in early June.
Town Square features multiple themed activity rooms to mimic a 1950s town square, including faux storefronts, turf for a park area in the middle of the square, a restaurant called Rosie’s Diner and the Starlite Theater, among other features.

Owner Mandy McCollum said the Tri-Cities needs additional services for seniors. Town Square provides another option of support for those taking care of loved ones with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Previously, the options were to stay home and care for them, pay for in-home caregivers, and/or (when it is time) place them in a facility. She said Town Square offers support and respite for families by providing comprehensive programming that engages members throughout the day.
The cost for the project build-out was $2.3 million.
The general contractor is Pat Dotson Builder Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia.
Sargenti of Paramus, New Jersey, is the architect.
