Toys for Tots Tri-Cities, a nonprofit that distributes thousands of toys to families in need throughout the Tri-Cities, is seeking volunteers this December as it sorts and prepares toys donated by the community.
Last year, the organization supported 4,602 children, with 16,260 toys distributed. To prepare that number of toys, volunteers work 10-hour days over two weeks to ensure that children can experience the joy of the holiday season.
Toys for Tots is asking for additional volunteers to help sort and process the toys that have been donated. Community members can help out anytime between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. through Dec. 20 at the Benton County Fairgrounds, Building #4, 1500 S. Oak St., Kennewick.
The local Toys for Tots chapter is part of the National Marine Toys for Tots program.
