The Pasco Public Facilities District expects to complete construction in late June of the Pasco Aquatic Center at the corner of Road 108 and Sandifur Parkway in Pasco.
The 32,000-square-foot main building and 2,844-square-foot outbuilding have capacity for 500. The center is designed to provide year-round municipal aquatics services, including lap swimming, recreation and training programs. It also will be available for parties, quinceañeras and other community events.
The single-story complex includes a public entry area, concession space, three party rooms that can also serve as community and board rooms, administrative offices, mechanical spaces and changing rooms. A connected natatorium houses multiple pools and aquatic amenities for year-round use, while an outdoor aquatic area provides seasonal recreation. The outbuilding has additional restrooms, changing areas, a snack shack and a mechanical room.
Architecturally, the facility was designed to reflect the region’s natural landscape. The building incorporates a distinctive compacted earth wall and colors inspired by the shrub-steppe environment and nearby rivers. A large glass wall on the west side of the natatorium provides views of the dunes, river, surrounding ridges and Tri-Cities sunsets.

The project cost totaled approximately $51 million, including construction, project soft costs, contingency funds and property acquisition.
Bouten Construction is the general contractor.
NAC Architecture of Spokane is the architect.
The project was developed by the Pasco Public Facilities District to address the community’s long-standing need for a year-round aquatics facility and to provide a regional destination for residents and visitors of all ages.
