The building home to Cedars at Pier One on Kennewick’s Clover Island is for sale, but the restaurant remains open to diners.

A message from co-owner Carrie Lundgren was shared on the riverfront restaurant’s social media, assuring the community the restaurant was not closed or closing.

“Doug (Lundgren) and I would like to announce that we are ready to make some changes and see what the next chapter of our lives will be,” Carrie Lundgren said in the post. “The first step is to sell Cedars. We will continue to operate, take care of and love Cedars and our Cedars family during the marketing process. We appreciate our staff and customers very much.”

An online real estate listing for the building at 355 Clover Island Drive indicates a price of $3 million, along with a monthly land lease of $3,000 to the Port of Kennewick. It also noted that the business is not for sale.

“This is not a business opportunity for sale. The business will not be relocating,” the listing states. “Purchaser may use the current business name should they choose to but the business is not part of the sale. The building, fixtures, furniture, equipment and inventory is what is for sale.”

Lundgren, who is a licensed Realtor, is listed as the seller’s agent.

Doug and Carrie Lundgren bought the restaurant in 2019. The Lundgrens lease the 0.29-acre lot from the port.

Built in 1977, the 8,600-square-foot restaurant sits on the northern shore of Clover Island in Kennewick, providing views of the shoreline and the landmark Ed Hendler Bridge, better known as the cable bridge.

It has two kitchens, a large formal dining area, lounge with a large gas fireplace and two separate patios. The building was rebuilt after a fire in 1999 and began a refresh in early 2020 with new paint and updated flooring and lighting before the Covid-19 pandemic halted it.

The restaurant’s hours and menus are available at cedarsatpierone.com.
