The final phases of construction on the Dallas Road roundabouts in Richland will start this week before resuming in the spring. Detours will be in place.

During the week of Oct. 27, paving work between Trowbridge Boulevard and Ava Way will be completed. This phase completes three of the four legs of both the Dallas Road and Trowbridge Boulevard and Dallas Road and Ava Way roundabouts.

After the paving and striping work, crews will begin construction on a splitter island along Ava Way between Dallas and Gateway Avenue.

For two to three weeks while this work is ongoing, Ava Way will be closed between Dallas and Gateway. Traffic will be detoured via Trowbridge Boulevard.

Both roundabouts will continue to operate during this phase.

Once the Ava Way roadwork is complete, construction will pause for the winter months due to anticipated cold temperatures. Both intersections will remain open to traffic, and construction is planned to resume in early spring 2026.

The project will improve safety, reduce congestion and enhance traffic flow in a key transportation corridor, the city of Richland said in a release. Project schedules are subject to change based on weather and site conditions.
