A new resource at Washington State University (WSU) Tri-Cities is available to help students dress for success.
Student and university leaders recently celebrated the opening of the Crimson Career Closet in the north Richland campus’ Career Center in its Consolidated Information Center building, according to a release. It offers racks of donated business attire for any current student preparing for a job interview, presentation, networking event or other professional gathering.
“Some people have clothing that their moms or their sisters let them borrow, but when you’re the first person to go to college, that’s something you might not have access to,” said Jimena Delgado, a student senator for the Carson College of Business at WSU Tri-Cities, in a statement. “Part of student government is expanding that equal access to students.”
The effort to establish the closet presented some early challenges, including finding a location and securing enough donations to fill it. But the career center offered its hallway as a home and a large clothing donation from members of Hanford site contractor Hanford Tank Waste & Closure (H2C) provided a boost.
Any student may stop by the Career Center anytime during normal business hours to look through the closet’s offerings and everything is free for students to keep.
