Nearly 750 acres of prime Franklin County farmland is up for the taking on Nov. 13.

Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company in conjunction with Yarbro Auctioneers is auctioning off the 11 tracts that make up the Van Rijn Farm, according to a release. Located north of Pasco and with a mix of irrigated cropland, multiple homes and a dairy facility that supplied Seattle-based dairy cooperative Darigold for 20 years, auction officials said the property provides an “extraordinary opportunity to acquire a large, contiguous operation in the south Columbia Basin.”

“Buyers will find exceptional flexibility with this offering,” said R.D. Schrader, president of Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company, in a statement. “Operators can bid on tracts to expand their acreage, investors can acquire irrigated farmland with strong production potential, and those seeking rural homesites will find several attractive options.”

Six of the 11 tracts, comprising more than 700 acres, are mostly tillable farmland and have been used for corn silage to support the former dairy as well as potatoes. Soils are sandy loam and loamy sand.

The dairy facility is capable of milking 1,100 cows per day and has milk storage capacity of roughly 24,000 gallons.

Five of the tracts include residences ranging from a double wide modular home, a mobile home and single-family houses ranging in size from 1,712 square feet to 2,705 square feet with outbuildings and a pool.

Located at 3550 Dogwood Road, potential buyers can visit and inspect the properties on from 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 30; from 9 to 11 a.m. on Oct. 31 and from 3 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 12.

The auction will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Nov. 13 in Building 3 at the Benton County Fairgrounds. Online bidding will be available for registered participants. Bidders must register at least one week in advance at schraderauction.com or by calling 800-451-2709.
