Heads up: Licensing services limited or closed beginning Feb. 10

If you need to get or renew your driver’s license or the tabs for your car, get it done before Feb. 10 to avoid having to wait more than a week to do so.

All Benton and Franklin county vehicle licensing offices will be closed Feb. 14-17. That includes offices operated by each county’s auditor’s office, as well as the state office on Clearwater Avenue in Kennewick.

State-operated driver’s licensing offices also will be closed.

Online options for those services will be down even longer, from Feb. 10-17.

The service disruption is a result of the state updating its software systems. County officials said the system upgrades will enhance customer service, add security features, and better support mobile devices.
