“Bless this place with peace.”

This was one of the many messages written in black Sharpie along the exposed studs and beams at the Hospice House in Kennewick on Aug. 29.

Tri-Cities Chaplaincy invited the community to stop by the facility to see the progress on the renovation and to leave their mark by writing positive notes, verses, quotes, blessings or cherished memories on the bones of the building.

When the Hospice House was originally built nearly 30 years ago, volunteers who helped build it left their signatures, quotes and personal notes on the beams. This event honored that tradition.
