Columbia Center Rotary Charity will donate $250,000 to the regional rehabilitation center being built in the former Kennewick General Hospital in downtown Kennewick.

The donation was announced March 27 by Benton County government officials. Columbia Center Rotary Club, which the charity is part of, will host a private event on April 10 with officials from the Benton County government and Benton Franklin Recovery Coalition to celebrate the donation.

The money will be used to support the Family Room and family services at the Columbia Valley Center for Recovery. The Family Room will serve as a reconnection room that will facilitate healing and support recovery for individuals.

The center is expected to open at the end of 2025 or early 2026 once a $42.5 million renovation of the hospital is completed and will be the region’s first inpatient recovery facility.
