More than 50 organizations are gathering to celebrate Earth Day at a free event April 18.

This year’s Tri-Cities Earth Day Festival, held in advance of Earth Day on April 22, will be held at the Reach Museum in Kennewick. Conservation groups, educators, scientists and industry partners will work to highlight the region’s role in science, sustainability and industry.

The event will include interactive booths, activities for kids and families, an electric vehicle showcase, live performances and food vendors.

Geologist Nick Zentner, a Central Washington University professor known for his PBS series “Nick On The Rocks,” featuring the geology of the Pacific Northwest.

The event also includes free admission to the museum during event hours, noon to 4 p.m.
