Event Description

The City of Kennewick is thrilled to invite the public to the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the city’s newest splash pad, located next to the Kenneth Serier Pool (315 W 6th Ave). The celebration will take place on Thursday, May 30th at 3:00 PM.

This exciting new community feature was made possible through funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The CDBG program plays a vital role in helping communities like Kennewick invest in public spaces, support essential local services, expand affordable housing opportunities, and improve overall quality of life.

“I’m so excited to celebrate the newest splash pad at Kenneth Serier Pool,” said Kylie Peel, City of Kennewick Community Development Coordinator. “This project is a great example of how CDBG funds can bring neighbors together and create safe, fun spaces for families to enjoy.”

The City extends sincere thanks to the Kennewick Parks & Recreation and the Public Works Department for their dedication, collaboration, and hard work in bringing this project to life.

Join us on May 30th to cool off, connect with the community, and see how grant-funded projects can make a lasting difference in our neighborhoods.
