Event Description

The B Reactor Museum Association is proud to help spread the word about an important upcoming event that honors and preserves local history: Mapping East Pasco – A Community Memory Project. Hosted by Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church in collaboration with the Hanford History Project, this gathering invites the community to help reconstruct East Pasco as it once was — vibrant, connected, and full of stories that deserve to be remembered.

Do you remember when East Pasco bustled with corner stores, family gatherings, and a tight-knit neighborhood spirit before 1970? Or have you heard those stories passed down through your family? Your memories and insights are vital to preserving this piece of our shared regional heritage.

Using a large-scale historical base map provided by the Franklin County Historical Society and Museum, participants will work together to identify:

• Where homes, businesses, and gathering places once stood

• The stories that made each location meaningful

• The connections that wove the community together

This is a hands-on, interactive session designed for:

• Longtime residents – Your firsthand memories are irreplaceable

• Family members – The stories passed down through generations matter deeply

• Community historians – Your research helps connect the dots

• Curious neighbors – Your questions and enthusiasm help grow understanding

The B Reactor Museum Association encourages the public to attend and participate in this powerful act of memory-keeping. Events like this help expand our collective understanding of local history and ensure that every story has a place in the broader narrative of the Tri-Cities region.

This is a free event with complimentary lunch.
