Shelby’s Floral & Gifts recently opened its doors after finishing construction on a new building in Kennewick, just up the road from its former location.

The floral and gift shop at 6018 W. Clearwater Ave. offers an expanded selection of gifts, flowers and plants at its new 6,100-square-foot store.

The shop’s bigger showroom has a high, open ceiling and is surrounded by large windows, creating a bright and spacious feeling. It has pop-out windows on the corner of the building where the store can showcase its seasonal displays.

“We lost our lease in our current location so had to make the decision to make a move. We purchased some property just down the street and began the building process. We should have made the move many years ago and are really excited to be out on our own,” Shelby’s said in a statement.

Shelby’s has been in the flower business in Kennewick for 48 years. This will be its third and final move on Clearwater Avenue.

The new shop opened Aug. 1.

Plans for the second phase of the building begin in 2025. There will be up to 4,000 square feet available for one or two tenants.

Hummel Construction of Kennewick is the general contractor.

WHL Architecture PLLC of Richland is the architect.
