Pasco School District will dedicate the 26th student-built home completed through its Pasco Vocational Buildings Program on May 28, marking nearly three decades of student workforce development in the construction trades.

The Team Pasco Home 2026 dedication ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 8802 Dusty Maiden Drive in Pasco.

This year’s home is being dedicated in memory of John Marshall, the district’s construction trades instructor who died in December. District officials said Marshall played a significant role in mentoring students and shaping the construction trades program.

During the ceremony, students and staff will present a commemorative plaque to Marshall’s mother, Helen Marshall.

Speakers at the event will include Pasco Vocational Buildings Program Board President Vicki Monteagudo, Bouten Construction Vice President Brandon Potts and Career & Technical Education Director Laura Jones.

Construction trades instructor Chris Lambert will present Golden Hammer Awards recognizing student achievement, and students will share testimonials about their experiences in the program.

The event will also recognize scholarship recipients supported through the Pasco Vocational Buildings Program Board. Since 1999, the board has awarded more than $290,000 in scholarships to Pasco students pursuing post-secondary education or careers in the skilled trades. This year, the board will award $16,250 in scholarships.

Following the ceremony, the completed home will be open for public tours from 1-5 p.m. in an open house hosted by Century 21 Tri-Cities.

Lunch for the event is being provided by PARR Lumber, with refreshments provided by Bouten Construction.

The project is the latest completed through the district’s construction program, which has built 26 homes during the past 29 years while providing students with hands-on experience in residential construction and related trades.

District officials said the Team Pasco Homes program continues to help prepare students for careers in the skilled trades while supporting workforce development efforts in the Tri-Cities construction industry.
