Is the chill in the air making you dream of a tropical escape? Come mid-2027, you’ll be just a hop and a skip from Tahiti as Alaska Airlines once again expands its route offerings.
The airline recently announced it will add direct flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Papeete in French Polynesia’s Tahiti and to Osaka, Japan, via Hawaiian Airlines, which the company acquired two years ago.
“We are building an airline that connects the Pacific Northwest to more of the world and we know our guests will be excited to have convenient access to Osaka and Papeete from Seattle,” said President and CEO Ben Minicucci in a statement. “We’re just getting started, with more international destinations on the horizon as we grow as the leading global airline on the West Coast.”
Both routes will use Airbus A330 aircraft, which will have lie-flat business class suites and high-speed Wi-Fi via Starlink.
Four weekly flights to Osaka will begin May 14 while thrice-weekly Papeete flights start June 11.
