A Hawaiian-style food truck opened its doors at the Port of Kennewick’s Columbia Gardens Wine & Artisan village this week.

The Local Bite moved into its new home alongside other food trucks such as Bobablastic Tri-Cities, Botanas Culichi, Frida’s Mexican Grill, Nana’s Kitchen and the recently opened La Bahia.

The site is also home to several wineries and Swampy’s BBQ restaurant.

The Local Bite’s owners, Kristal and Race Ostman, purchased the business from a childhood friend in 2024. The food truck already has a local following for its Hawaiian-inspired dishes, including shoyu chicken, kalua pig, Hawaiian beef, katsu chicken and spam musubi.

The food truck will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday at 325 E. Columbia Gardens Way, Kennewick, and will operate some weekends, depending on off-site catering commitments. The owners also are looking forward to adding DoorDash service so that fans can more easily get their favorite dishes.
