Columbia Ability Alliance is launching its annual Giving Blitz today. The five-day event seeks to raise money for the nonprofit’s programs.

Each day of the event has a sponsor-backed challenge:

  • Sept 21: Presenting sponsor Amentum will match the first $8,000 raised.
  • Sept 22: First Security Bank will give $2,500 when three CAA programs each reach 20 donations; Petersen Hastings will give $1,500 when 10 businesses donate.
  • Sept 23: Highstreet Insurance will give $2,500 if the campaign page is shared more than 75 times across social media channels. Wheat Head on the Water and Nana’s Kitchen give back all day, $1 per drink and 5% of dining proceeds.
  • Sept 24: ICCU will donate $1,500 when 10 donors each from Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco give; Cornerstone Wealth Strategies will give $5,000 at 100 total donations.
  • Sept 25: Amazon will match all donations, up to $2,000, until the Blitz closes at 5 p.m.

“Spreading the Blitz across five days lets us highlight the full range of CAA services as we break down barriers to employment and social inclusion for individuals with disabilities and other barriers, giving our community more chances to be part of it,” said Michael Novakovich, president and CEO of Columbia Ability Alliance, in a statement.

Funds support CAA’s programs, including Opportunity Kitchen, employment services, CAA’s community center, the Nexus Youth Club and other services.

The organization hopes to raise $50,000. Last year’s 48-hour Giving Blitz raised $30,120.
