The Tri-Cities’ second Habit Burger & Grill opens this week, bringing the California-based fast food chain’s charburgers into the growing Columbia Center shopping and entertainment area.

The new restaurant, at 7415 W. Canal Drive in Kennewick, will hold a grand opening beginning at 10:30 a.m. May 20, with the first 500 guests receiving a $20 Flavor Pass to try out the restaurant’s menu and the first 100 guests receiving a Habit-branded tote packed with giveaway items.

The fast-food restaurant specializes in serving made-to-order burgers and sandwiches featuring tri-tip steak, chicken and sushi-grade ahi tuna cooked over an open flame. It also offers made-to-order salads and a selection of sides, shakes and malts.

Unable to make it on opening day? The restaurant will have a Fresh Preview Fundraiser Night from 5-7 p.m. May 19 to benefit Columbia Ability Alliance.

The first Habit Burger & Grill opened in Santa Barbara, California, in 1969. The first Habit Burger & Grill in the Tri-Cities opened in Richland’s Queensgate shopping district in 2021.

The chain has restaurants in 14 states throughout Arizona, California, Florida, Idaho, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia and Washington, as well as eight international locations.
