Richland residents are invited to meet four candidates being considered to lead the city department responsible for economic development, planning, building and housing programs.

The city will host a meet-and-greet with introductions of the candidates for the development services director position beginning at 6:30 p.m. May 12 in the community lounge of the Richland Community Center at 500 Amon Park Drive. Light refreshments will be provided.

The four candidates include internal candidate Mike Stevens, the city’s current planning manager; Derrick Braaten, who served most recently as Sunnyside’s community and economic development director; Michael Rizzitiello, city administrator for College Place; and Steve Hohulin, director of land planning with Quiddity Engineering LLC in Woodland, Texas.

The annual salary range for the position was posted at just under $138,000 to $193,000 in the city’s job listing.
