Richland launches planning initiative, seeks community input

Richland city leaders are hoping to combine multiple planning efforts and community input to develop a unified vision for the city’s future.

The Future in Focus initiative integrates the city’s comprehensive plan, transportation systems plan and parks, recreation and open space plan to gather ideas and develop a vision on how city residents live, move and connect for decades to come.

“This is about more than just planning,” said Joe Schiessl, Deputy City Manager. “Future in Focus is an opportunity for every resident to have a voice in building a city that works better for everyone – today and tomorrow.”

City leaders invite residents to visit the new online hub for the initiative at ci.richland.wa.us/futureinfocus to learn about the different plans, participate in online surveying and be alerted to when there will be meetings and open houses, in-person and virtually.
