Firehouse Subs in the Tri-Cities have a new franchise owner and locations that closed in mid-2024 are set to reopen in the coming months.

Making Dough LLC will own and operate all five restaurants in the area, according to a news release from Firehouse Subs.

Three restaurants – located at 4845 Broadmoor Blvd. in Pasco, 10799 Ridgeline Drive in Kennewick and 2607 Kingsgate Way in Richland – are already open for business.

The restaurant at 838 Uhling Road in Burbank will reopen by the end of November while the Firehouse Subs at 6255 Keene Road in West Richland will reopen in 2025.

Franchise owner Charles Singer said in a release that he’s thrilled to be part of Firehouse Subs and to continue bringing sub sandwiches to the community while supporting first responders. A portion of the Firehouse Subs’ sales go to its Public Safety Foundation.

The Tri-Cities franchise was previously owned and operated by the Eerkes family, with all but one of the Firehouse Subs locations inside one of the family’s Sun Market convenience stores. The family sold off several of its assets in late 2023, including the convenience stores, to PacWest Energy of Idaho, which rebranded the stores as Jacksons. However, Eerkes continued to operate the restaurants.

The Firehouse Subs locations in Burbank and West Richland closed in August, with staff at the Kennewick, Pasco and Richland locations saying the closures were potentially only temporary. Craig Eerkes said at the time the family was searching for a new owner for the franchise.
