Richland plans improvements to the intersection of George Washington Way and Aaron Drive/Columbia Point Drive, one of the busiest and most congested intersections in the Tri-Cities.
Courtesy city of RichlandMore Richland lane closures are coming – this time on George Washington Way.
Beginning at 8 p.m. Aug. 11 through 5 a.m. Aug. 12, lane closures will be in place at the intersection of George Washington Way and Columbia Point Drive, near the WinCo in Richland.
Crews will be installing cantilever road signs, as well as a “Welcome to Richland” sign. Lanes will be closed on eastbound Columbia Point Drive, southbound George Washington Way, and northbound George Washington Way south of the Columbia Point Drive intersection. At least one lane of traffic will remain open in each affected direction during the work.
If crews are unable to finish the sign installation Tuesday, Aug. 11, the work will resume at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12. This work is expected to be the last major traffic disruption associated with the intersection improvement project.
