Beginning Monday, Nov. 2, Horn Rapids Road between Kingsgate Way and the Framatome entrance will be closed to through traffic as the city of Richland begins the final phase of its North Horn Rapids Sewer Extension Project.
Courtesy city of RichlandWorkers commuting to Framatome, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the Hanford site via Horn Rapids Road will need to take an alternate route for the next two weeks.
Richland road crews will close the stretch of Horn Rapids Road between Kingsgate Way and the entrance to Framatome’s north Richland plant beginning Nov. 2 and through Nov. 13, according to a release.
The closure is needed to complete the final phase of the north Horn Rapids sewer extension project, which added roughly 6,500 feet of sanitary sewer main in the area. The final construction phase includes paving and adding pavement markings to the impacted stretch of road.
During the closure, motorists will be detoured via Kingsgate Way, Battelle Boulevard, and Stevens Drive. Access to Framatome will remain available from the east via Stevens Drive.
