Benton Rural Electric Association has broken ground on its future West Richland headquarters, which will help consolidate operations and put its crews closer to the bulk of its members.
Courtesy Benton REABenton Rural Electric Association’s new West Richland headquarters will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting ahead of its mid-July opening.
The event will take place at 8:30 a.m. June 20 at 2121 Cooperative Way, West Richland. The new 40,000-square-foot building will house Benton REA’s administrative, engineering and operations services. The building includes a warehouse, a garage and a community room fitting up to 190 people that organizations can reserve for public meetings.
The new building is in a key location for Benton REA: About 73% of Benton REA’s membership lives in West Richland and 64% of the utility’s fieldwork is closer to the new headquarters.
Construction on the building began in late 2024, the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business reported at the time, and the land for the new building was purchased in 2021.
